WebChange

About the software

WebChange is an offline website maintenance tool, designed to simplify a number of recurring and repetitive tasks, as well as provide a number of other useful facilities. The software has been written with the type of webmaster in mind who, like the program's author, prefers to hand edit the HTML rather than use a site design package.

Features of the software include searching and replacing across all the html files found in the local copy of your site, reading file sizes and datestamps and including them in the html in specified places, and much more.

Compatibility

Versions exist for RISC OS 26bit platforms, as well as for Microsoft Windows.

Since its release, the RISC OS version has seen ongoing development, and is now a very feature-rich tool. At the present time, development is progressing on the 32bit version which, as well as finally bringing WebChange's facilities to the Iyonix platform, will also be greatly improved over the older 26bit version, with better and more powerful wildcard support, and many other enhancements.

The Windows version has, unfortunately, seen very little development and, by comparison to the RISC OS version, is very feature-poor. In spite of this, however, it is still a useful tool.

Availabilty and Pricing

The existing Windows and RISC OS versions of the software are available to download free of charge from the WebChange website.

The price for the new 32bit compatible RISC OS version is yet to be decided. No new version is currently planned for the Windows platform, so for the forseeable future the that version will remain available as a free download.

Requirements and Dependencies

WebChange requires the SRSLibrary relocatable module.
